The bottom line is that if you are travelling with electronic devices, you may be required to switch them on to prove they are real, meaning they need to have charge in them or you may not be allowed to board. So here are five portable chargers that will help make sure you and your phone get on that plane.
Proporta TurboCharger Pocket Power - £12.95
Proporta offers the TurboCharger Pocket Power charger that is just 7mm thick and features a 680mAh battery capacity within it, along with LED lights to show you how much charge is left.
It measures 90 x 54mm, making it around the same size as a credit card except for the thickness and it will give a little bit of juice to a range of devices including iPhones and any device with a Micro-USB port such as Kindles and Android smartphones.
Fuel - £25
Fuel is another small portable charger like the Proporta TurboCharger but it only offers a 220mAh battery, which is about enough to add half an hour of talk time to your phone's life.
This charger is small enough to fit on your keychain but it will only charge devices that use Micro-USB so it won't work with iPhones, but you will be able to add a bit of juice to your Kindle and Android smartphone. You can pick one up from Firebox.
Anker Astro Pro 2 – around £65
The Anker Astro Pro 2 takes the battery capacity up massively with a 20,000mAh offering within it, meaning you could almost charge your iPhone 5S fully 13 times before it ran out of steam.
It offers a brushed metal design and it will also charge your larger electronic devices such as tablets and laptops, which is great for when you are on the move.
Cobra Electronics CPP 7500 JumPack – around £100
The Cobra Electronics CPP 7500 JumPack offers a 7500mAh battery capacity inside it and although it isn't as big as the Anker option, it comes with a few tricks up its sleeve other than just being able to give your phone some juice.
The CPP 7500 JumPack has a 2.1 Amp USB port for rapidly charging devices, but it is also capable of pushing out a 200 Amp starting current, up to a 400 Amp peak current, meaning it should be able to jump start most cars. There are jump cables included and this battery pack also features a torch on the front. You can find it on the Amazon US website.
